It is a simple and standard way of communicating with your equipment. If you want orders to be handled automatically out of your systems, you will need an I/O wall box. This is also needed to open and close doors when the AGV needs access. More signals can be handled in 1 wall box, so the number of I/O boxes is to be taken into consideration when making the layout. The more I/O boxes you choose, the less cabling is needed.

The AGV can communicate with other systems via the XML interface. It is a standard interface and developed with SAP, WMS, and other systems. The interface is user-friendly, easy to handle, and does not constitute any problem for the different suppliers to deliver this type of communication.

The battery selection must be taken into consideration during specification, as this has to do with the number of pallets that need to be moved. If you use the AGV in only 1 shift, we recommend a lead-acid battery. If the AGV covers more shifts, it becomes more complicated and therefore, you will have the choice of shifting between lead-acid batteries or use the opportunity charging solution. If you choose to swap between 2 lead-acid batteries you lose 2 – 3% of your driving time of the AGV. If you choose the solution with opportunity charging, you will lose 15 – 20% of the driving time, as the AGV drives to the charging station several times instead of just one time.

Tools will be delivered with this solution to handle it in a good and safe way. One person can easily change the battery, just by pulling the battery on rollers.
